El INCART apoya la inclusión laboral junto a la Fundación LOATA

Santo Domingo. – Desde su origen, la Fundación Loata se ha propuesto lograr que las personas con discapacidad en general, específicamente intelectual, encuentren una brecha para insertarse en el área laboral, y de este modo puedan vivir dignamente.
Avalada por el Consejo Nacional de Discapacidad (Conadi) esta fundación presidida por Luisa Milqueya Sención y Rosario Nicasio, promueve una cultura de inserción en todas las áreas laborales del país en las que las personas con alguna discapacidad puedan desarrollarse.

Su lema es “Las personas con discapacidad no están enfermas, simplemente tienen una condición de vida distinta”.
A fin de dar a conocer el trabajo que desarrollan, Rosario Nicasio, vicepresidenta de Loata explicó que durante estos cinco años la fundación ha logrado insertar a ocho personas con discapacidad en diferentes empresas, las cuales les han abierto sus puertas reconociendo su valor.

Qué es la discapacidad? Rosario señaló que no hay por qué excluir de las áreas laborales a quienes tienen algún tipo de discapacidad, ya sea sensorial, visual, auditiva, física (ya sea personas con limitación del movimiento, ausencia o parálisis de una, dos, o de las cuatro extremidades), o intelectual (personas que tienen dificultad en su proceso de aprendizaje en la escuela y en la vida diaria).

“La misión que tiene la Fundación Loata es contribuir a crear una cultura en la que las empresas abran las puertas a las personas con alguna discapacidad”, informó.

Además Rosario indicó que la ley establece que el sector laboral privado debe tener una cuota de un 2 % de estas personas empleadas y el sector público una cuota de un 5 %. Enfatizó que “en el área laboral, las personas con alguna discapacidad pueden aprender de todo, aunque de manera diferente, más despacio”.

Rosario Nicasio, quien es también directora de proyectos, mencionó entre las empresas que han acogido el llamado de Loata para insertar personas con alguna discapacidad el Instituto Nacional del Cáncer, Read y Compañía, Helados Bon, Ministerio de Industria y Comercio, Infotep, Mundo Sobre Ruedas, “a estas personas solo hay que prestarles un poco más de comprensión, pero pueden hacer el trabajo”.

Lucas Carmona, al centro, junto a compañeros y jefe del área de lavandería en el Instituto Nacional del Cáncer Rosa Emilia Sánchez de Tavárez (INCART).

Lucas es un joven con síndrome de Down que se desempeña como asistente de lavanderia, presentando a todas luces un alto nivel en el compromiso, disposición y responsabilidad con las tareas que le son asignadas. Su trabajo ha sido digno de un reconocimiento que le ha otorgado el INCART por su desempeño en el área de lavandería desde su entrada a la institución, a través del acuerdo interinstitucional de inserción laboral entre INCART y Fundación LOATA. Lucas continúa trabajando en el Departamento de lavandería del INCART desde hace 4 años y se siente agradecido por la oportunidad ofrecida.
