Santo Domingo. – Las inquietudes personales y profesionales del profesional de la urología Pablo Mateo Santos, han trascendido fronteras. El Dr. Mateo, oriundo de Vallejuelo, se ha mantenido a la vanguardia a favor de su profesión y la salud de sus pacientes.
Mateo, quien ha ocupado en dos ocasiones la presidencia de la Sociedad Dominicana de Urología, acaba de alcanzar un peldaño más, realizando, con excelentes calificaciones, un diplomado en Laparoscopic Urological Surgery Intensive Course, avalado por la reconocida Universidad de Estrasburgo, con los doctores Jacques Marescaux y Thierry Piechaud y con el Dr. Eric Drapier en cirugías en el área urológica.
Según se informó en una nota de prensa, la acreditación otorgada por esta reconocida universidad faculta al galeno a realizar cirugías laparoscópicas tales como radicales de próstata por diagnóstico de cáncer, nefrectomía por cáncer de riñón, pieloplastia por estrechez de la pelvis renal y prolapsos de la vejiga en mujeres, entre otras.
Sobre el médico. Pablo Mateo es el director actual del Departamento de Uro-Oncología del Instituto Nacional del Cáncer Rosa Emilia Sánchez Pérez de Tavárez (INCART), donde realiza programas de cirugías laparoscópicas en pacientes con cáncer de próstata, de riñón y glándulas suprarrenales, en beneficio de personas con escasos recursos económicos. Además, opera su Centro de Urología Láser Avanzada en el Centro Médico Real y en pocos meses estará en Medical NET.
